I have booked the Crow's Nest at the Archie Browning arena for a team meeting
Monday March 09 from 7 pm to 8 pm. You must attend....either player and parent or at least the parent (as all players are still minors)
At this meeting I will need your registration money $500.00 and I will need your parent or guardian to sign a practice form. This is so you are covered by insurance if
you get injured.

After attending the VELAX executive meeting last night, it was brought to my attention ( by the Intermediate B Commissioner)
that there are some very critical deadline dates approaching very quickly.
So we must act fast and create a committee to field a team.
Here are some of the facts with running a senior Intermediate team.
We must have:
- minimum of 20 signed players (2 being goalies) with a maximum of 25 signed players (2 being goalies)
- 1 head coach with a level 2 coaching certificate
- 2 assistance coaches (on the bench)
- 2 dedicated door men or women (on the bench)
- 1 first aider on or off the bench
- 1 manager ( I will do most of the duties but would like help)
- 1 50/50 coordinator / fundraiser
- and many committed parents for rides and loud cheers
It is very expensive to operate a Senior division team – at least $10,000.00
This includes – team/play registration fee, floor time rentals (for games and practice time), referee fees, there may be travel expenses, equipment cost (balls etc)
The cost to register a play this year will be $350.00 registration fee and $150.00 team expense fee. Fees must be received by March 05, 2009
I will need your commitment – physically, mentally and financiallly to the team no later than Feb 20, 2009.
After hearing from the Commissioner last night the Intermediate league this year has at least 7 teams and may be 2 more (Nanaimo and VELAX).
All associations in the Victoria area have enough players to field their own team and will have to make a number of cuts ( which make them available to VELAX to pick up)
…..So if we do not field a team of our own, our players will not have an intermediate team to play on and have the option of playing Junior B.
Please reply to me with any questions or your commitment
Thank you
