Welcome to Victoria Esquimalt Lacrosse 2009 Season

As registration completes in February our Pre-season practices and Soft lacrosse programs will be starting. This year Soft Lacrosse will include the Mini-Tykes and Tykes, while our Pre-season practices will be for Novice ages and up. These programs will be found on our HomePage.

The Executive and I are busy planning the pre-season BBQ, so if you have any ideas for this years event please let us know through VELAX Secretary Vicki White. Also there are many openings still on the Executive itself so if you have a few hours a month to help out in any capacity please contact us!

Our NEW JERSEY's were a big hit last year and I am glad to see all of them returned. Unfortunatly not all of our VELAX equipment was returned. Players please check around your house and if you have something from that belongs to the Association and contact our Equipment Manager Kevin Carter to make arrangements to return these items. Coaches you will be responsible for your teams loaned equipment this year. At the end of the season please return all Jersey's, Goale equipment, First Aid Kits, Balls, Cones etc etc. Coaches are also reminded key's must be returned into the Equipment Manager at the end of the 2009 season.

A reminder to all, VELAX t-shirts, jackets, and merchandise shall be ordered through our Booster Eagle Wear Manager Leanne Dungey. Any VELAX merchandise ordered that has not gone through Leanne and approved by the Executive will be not refunded by the association but paid for by the ordorer.

We have two VELAX hosted tournaments, our Mini-Tyke Buccuneer Day tournament and our Novice Windup Tournament. These two Tournaments require Full Participation from the Players parents. Not only do we need Parents to setup and do Time Sheets, Penilty Box we also require Parents to do Fund Raising, 50/50 Draws, Gift Baskets, and Schedulers. So please support your son or daughters team during these events.

I would like to congratulate our Peewee and Bantam teams from last year for there silver and gold medal performances at the provincials. Also congratulations to our Junior B team for being awarded the 2009 BC Junior B Provincial Championships, to be hosted at the Archie Browning Sports Centre from July 30th to August 3rd.
